Each year it begins anew –
A never-ending battle between us.
Their attack is silent and stealthy –
Bombing, buzzing, flying, whirring
They poke and jab with great veracity.
I dodge and whirl and parry, but my defenses are no match.
Corpses smash into pools of blood –
Piling up in silent testimony.
Finally after hours of this horrible struggle –
My gardening is done, I can go inside.
